Slows To Go opened in December 2010 as an extension of and companion business to Slows Bar Bq in Corktown.  Slows Bar Bq has been phenomenally busy since it opened. We don’t need to tell anyone who has been there on a Saturday night that the building is small.  The kitchen is smaller.  With everything created from scratch, and with meats smoking upwards of 12 hours, Slows reached, and passed, its capacity years ago.  

Slows To Go is a 6,000 square foot commercial kitchen with 7x the smoker capacity of the original building.  First and foremost, Slows To Go is a commissary kitchen.  We are able to prepare the same food, with the same high quality ingredients much more efficiently and without cutting any corners.  Slows To Go prepares much of the food eaten at Slows Bar Bq.  

Slows To Go is also a carryout location.  We have (almost) all of the same food offered at Slows Bar Bq.  There are few items that are not available at To Go, but those are omitted by Chef Perrone because they are not intended for carryout and may not hold up to long drives.  In their place, Slows To Go provides ample space for creativity and allows us to feature specials, as well as new items that are under consideration for permanent places on the menu. Call ahead or order on-line.  We’ll have your order waiting for you when you arrive.

Slows To Go is a catering business.  We can provide all of our food by the pound or by the pan.  We can have your order ready for pick up either hot and ready to eat or cold with detailed reheating instructions.  We can also bring the order to you as a drop off or we can come along with staff for buffet or family-style service.  

In our first year of business we have catered business meetings and luncheons, weddings, rehearsal dinners, graduation parties, retirement parties, tailgates and more.  We’ve sold food at the Detroit Jazz Festival, at Movement, at the Eastern Market Beer Fest and many more events.  We’ve been called on to provide food for movie sets, commercials and music videos.  We've also become a caterer of choice for NHL teams in town to play the Wings.
